This page is the source of truth for the game's numbers. The Help page explains how to do things; this page lists what the limits and rates actually are. Where a number is set by an admin (auction times, emergency-loan rates) it can change between seasons, and those are noted as such.

Squad cap

You can hold a maximum of 30 riders, the same in every division. There is no minimum: you can sell down to 0 riders without penalty.

Hard cap

The cap is a hard limit. You cannot buy, bid or loan past your division's maximum of 30 riders. There is no buffer, no fine and no auto-sale: a deal that would take you over the cap is simply rejected.

Academy riders are separate

Academy riders never count towards the 30-rider senior cap and are never auto-sold by squad enforcement. They have their own caps: 12 on the U23 team and 10 on the junior team.
